Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization IASTM

Instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) is a specialized form of myofascial release used to treat soft tissue problems. The technique involves the use of patented stainless steel instruments to identify and treat areas of soft tissue dysfunction and pain. The instruments release adhesions and restrictions in the muscle, tendon, ligament or fascia to relieve pain, increase circulation and improve motion. Instruments are designed to adapt to various tissues, shapes and curves to stretch the connective tissue and muscle fibers

IASTM treatment at Behm Muscle & Joint Clinic

There are many different types of IASTM out there, for example Graston, FAKTR, hawkgrips, etc all of them base their concepts on identifying adhesions/soft tissue dysfunction and regenerates healthy soft tissues (muscles, tendons, etc.) by eliminating or reducing unwanted scar tissue that may be causing pain or movement restrictions.  IASTM treatment is highly effective for restoring movement and reducing pain from soft tissue injury/dysfunction, and IASTM even works when other approaches routinely fail.  One of the main reasons for this is that IASTM is designed to target the underlying cause of many soft tissue problems, rather than just trying to relieve symptoms.   If you are  dealing with any of the conditions listed above or are interested in learning if IASTM would be a good treatment for your condition do not hesitate to schedule a consultation with us or call the clinic at 402-292-1450.  New patients are always welcome at Behm Muscle & Joint Clinic.
